This is a setup guide for configuring your Smart Box configured for the SmartVoice service. Please select from the two options below, the Smart Box you are using.

If you have one of these units, but was not supplied by SmartVoice, please contact us for the configuration settings.


Smart Box Basic (Linksys SPA1001)

1. Within the box you should find the following:

  • Linksys SPA1001 (Smart Box Basic)

  • Ethernet Cable

  • Power Supply with Australian Fitting

  • Telephone Cable with RJ11 Fittings

  • Quick Install Guide

2. Connect the Ethernet cable supplied into a spare Ethernet port on your Router and the other end into your Smart Box. Ensure that your Internet connection is active.

3. Connect your phone into the RJ11 socket denoted as "Phone".

4. Connect the Australian fitting to the power supply, plug the power supply into the Smart Box and then into the power point.

5. The unit will now light up. The unit will flash a few times and reboot. Once this has finished, pick up your Handset and ensure you can hear a dial tone. The set-up is now complete. If you can not hear a dial tone, continue to Step 6.

6. If you do not have a dial tone, please ensure that you have DHCP enabled on your Router and that you have unblocked your Firewall for ports 16382 to 16483 (UDP). If you continue to have difficulties, please lodge a support request with SmartVoice.


Smart Box Complete (Linksys SPA3000)

1. Within the box you should find the following:

  • Linksys SPA3000 (Smart Box Complete)

  • Ethernet Cable

  • Power Supply with Australian Fitting

  • Telephone Cable with RJ11 Fittings

  • Quick Install Guide

2. Connect the Ethernet cable supplied into a spare Ethernet port on your Router and the other end into your Smart Box. Ensure that your Internet connection is active.

3. Connect your phone into the RJ11 socket denoted as "Phone". Connect your PSTN Line into the socket denoted as "LINE".

4. Connect the Australian fitting to the power supply, plug the power supply into the Smart Box and then into the power point.

5. The unit will now light up. The unit will flash a few times and reboot. Once this has finished, pick up your Handset and ensure you can hear a dial tone. Dial 90009004 and ensure that you can hear your SmartVoice username being read back out to you. The set-up is now complete. If you can not hear your SmartVoice Username being read back, continue to Step 6.

6. If you do not have a dial tone or you cannot hear your SmartVoice number, please ensure that you have DHCP enabled on your Router and that you have unblocked your Firewall to ports 16382 to 16483 (UDP). If you continue to have difficulties, please lodge a support request with SmartVoice.
